Jeremy Swayman certainly is earning the confidence of his Boston Bruins teammates, and it seems veteran winger Brad Marchand is among them.
Swayman, the rookie goaltender who was playing in only his second career game, stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced Thursday helping the Bruins to a 4-2 win over the Washington Capitals. It was the second consecutive win for the Bruins with the 22-year-old net minder playing between the pipes.

The young Boston Bruins netminder has seen an opportunity between the pipes much earlier than expected due to injuries and COVID-19 and hasn't looked back winning each of his two career starts against solid East Division foes.

The Boston Bruins jumped out to an early lead Thursday.
Jeremy Lauzon got the party started for the Bruins against the Washington Capitals with his first goal of the 2021 season a mere 33 seconds into the East Division clash.
Anton Blidh followed Lauzon's lead and netted his first goal of the season as well with just under four minutes left in the period.
Brad Marchand joined in on the action in the second period with his 30th shorthanded goal of the season to extend the Boston lead to three before the Capitals got two goals back of their own.

The Boston Bruins winger made it 3-0 on the penalty kill over the Washington Capitals on Thursday night when he faked a pass to Patrice Bergeron and backhanded the puck to Ilya Samsonov.

Garnet Hathaway was not in the mood to fight Thursday night, but Nick Ritchie wasn't having it.
The Boston Bruins were up 2-0 on the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena in the first period. After goals from Jeremy Lauzon and Anton Blidh , Ritchie decided to bring the physical presence.
Ritchie took care of Hathaway quickly with some heavy right hands before Hathaway went to the ice.
