Report: Mets willing to bump Lindor extension offer to $300M

Extension talks between the New York Mets and shortstop Francisco Lindor are underway, and the two sides have exchanged initial figures, sources told Andy Martino of SNY. The Mets are reportedly willing to give Lindor $300 million after their opening offer came in at slightly less than that total. Lindor's camp countered, asking for well over $300 million, Martino notes. The four-time All-Star, whom the Mets acquired from Cleveland in January, set Opening Day as the deadline to reach an agreement on a new contract.
