Cowboys' continued failures vs. NFL elite finally could spell doom for Jason Garrett

8 monthes ago   |   By Yardbarker

Jerry Jones might as well be a NASCAR owner, watching a bumbling driver careen his pristine car over an embankment. He is an architect building a mansion, only the contractor bought the wrong cement. He is an Oscar-winner producing a blockbuster, but the director lost the script. It's hard to fault Jones for his loyalty to Jason Garrett. In a microwave society, where results must be instant or must be damned, that Jones has hitched his star to one of his former players for a decade is commendable. But after a winnable 13-9 loss to the New England Patriots dropped the Dallas Cowboys to 6-5...

Troy Aikman's rebuke of Jason Garrett could spell his Cowboys end

8 monthes ago   |   By New York Post

Troy Aikman may have some indirect say over Jason Garrett's future with the Cowboys. During the Cowboys' 13-9 loss to the Patriots on Sunday, the Fox NFL analyst shredded Garrett's decision making, with some speculating team owner Jerry Jones would be listening closely to his former quarterback's comments. Aikman twice criticized Garrett for “poor coaching”...

Rex Ryan Declares Jason Garrett ‘Done' With Cowboys After Loss To Patriots

8 monthes ago   |   By NESN

Jason Garrett's days in Dallas are numbered.
That's what Rex Ryan believes, at least.
The Cowboys turned in a relatively listless performance Sunday when they suffered their second loss in three games. Dallas wasn't blown out by the New England Patriots, but at no point during the Week 12 game did it really feel like America's Team was going to leave Gillette Stadium with a win.
Franchise owner Jerry Jones made his frustration abundantly clear after the game, which included a few digs at Garrett. Ryan believes Jones' remarks spoke volumes about Garrett's job security.
“Oh, he's done...

Report: Jason Garrett needs to ‘make playoffs and beyond' to keep Cowboys job

8 monthes ago   |   By Yardbarker

Jerry Jones seemingly made it clear on Sunday that all the talk about Jason Garrett being on the hot seat is true, and it sounds like the Dallas Cowboys head coach will need to do more than just close out the regular season strong in order to keep his job. Garrett is in the final year of his contract, and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media said Monday that the coach “certainly needs to make the playoffs and beyond” if he wants an extension from the Cowboys after the season. That would suggest that simply reaching the postseason would not be enough for Garrett to assure he is brought back in 2020...

Report: Cowboys won't make any immediate changes to coaching staff

8 monthes ago   |   By TheScore

Despite owner Jerry Jones' admitted frustration with the coaching staff following the Dallas Cowboys ' 13-9 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday, no immediate coaching changes will be made, ESPN's Ed Werder reports. "With the makeup of this team, I shouldn't be this frustrated," Jones said after the loss. "I don't think there's a game where a coaching staff couldn't do better. I don't like that we've got so many as I'm standing here tonight." Head coach Jason Garrett was widely criticized for several decisions, including choosing to kick a field goal with the ball at the Patriots'...
