Blitzboks to face Scotland in Cup quarter-finals

The Springbok Sevens team on Saturday secured wins over Samoa and Zimbabwe to top Pool A at the end of the first day of the HSBC Cape Town Sevens despite a close defeat against New Zealand in their last match.
The Blitzboks won 22-12 against Samoa and 43-0 against their African neighbours and despite a 26-21 defeat against the All Blacks Sevens, they qualified top of the group due to a superior points' difference. They will face Scotland in the first Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

AUSTRALIA GO UNDEFEATED ON DAY ONE OF CAPE TOWN AND ADVANCE TO QUARTER FINALS

The Qantas Australian Men's Sevens team has topped Pool D on day one of the HSBC Cape Town Sevens, accounting for Wales, Canada and Scotland to advance to the quarter Finals.
Australia will play the second placed finisher in Pool A at 9.48pm AEDT on Sunday 9 December, with the match to be broadcast LIVE on FOX SPORTS.

ENGLAND MEN SEVENS TO FACE USA IN CAPE TOWN CUP QUARTER-FINALS

England will face USA in the Cup quarter-finals at the HSBC Cape Town Sevens on Sunday 9 December at 11.10am GMT after coming second in Pool C.
The men in white opened the day with a 29-12 win over Kenya and defeated France 26-12 but suffered a narrow 19-21 loss to Fiji in their final game on day one.
Despite England having possession early on it was Fiji who crossed first after Jerry Tuwai took full advantage of a loose ball and offloaded to Melismas Derenalagi moments before another England error allowed Aminiasi Tuimaba to dot down for Fiji's second.
